Community Success Stories: How Boreholes Are Transforming Lives in Rural Zimbabwe

Access to clean water is a fundamental necessity, yet many rural communities in Zimbabwe continue to struggle with water shortages. Nakiso Borehole Drilling has been at the forefront of changing this reality, bringing hope and transformation through the installation of boreholes in villages and remote areas.

Clean Water, Healthy Lives

One of the biggest impacts of borehole drilling is improved health. Contaminated water sources have long been responsible for the spread of waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid. By providing safe and reliable water, boreholes significantly reduce health risks, ensuring that families—especially children—can thrive in a healthier environment.

Empowering Women and Girls

In many rural communities, women and girls often walk long distances to fetch water. This not only consumes valuable time but also exposes them to safety risks. With boreholes now in place, they can focus on education, entrepreneurship, and other productive activities, fostering community development.

Boosting Agriculture and Food Security

Water is essential for farming, and boreholes have revolutionized agriculture in many rural areas. Farmers can now irrigate their crops more effectively, leading to increased yields and improved food security. Communities that once depended on seasonal rainfall are now able to grow crops throughout the year, reducing hunger and boosting local economies.

Livestock and Economic Growth

For communities that rely on livestock, boreholes provide a stable water source for animals, preventing losses due to drought. Additionally, access to clean water supports small businesses such as brick-making, poultry farming, and gardening, ultimately improving livelihoods.

A Sustainable Future

Nakiso Borehole Drilling remains committed to providing sustainable water solutions for rural Zimbabwe. Each borehole drilled is a step toward self-reliance, resilience, and prosperity for local communities. As more villages gain access to clean water, the dream of a water-secure Zimbabwe becomes a reality.

Fact 1: Know Your Borehole Casings

The Preferred Borehole Casing In Zimbabwe Is Class 9 and 10 (Pressure Classes.)

This is because Class 9 and Class 10 Casings are more collapse resistant. The strength of a Casing is often described as collapse resistance.

Fact 2: Borehole Drilling Depth

The exact depth, of where the water is located, cannot be established by the drilling contractor nor the Water Surveyor (Borehole Siter).

Fact 3: There Is No 100% Guarantee

It is important to note that it is never a 100% guarantee that any hole will yield water, the amount and water quality can also not be guaranteed by the drilling contractor and water surveyor.

Fact 4: Siting Is Important
Fact 5: Know The Risks
