Nakiso Borehole Drilling and Miss Universe Zimbabwe Partner for Community Water Project

Nakiso Borehole Drilling, a leading provider of water solutions in Zimbabwe, has partnered with Miss Universe Zimbabwe and the Epworth community to bring clean water to the area.

The project, which involved the installation of a solar-powered borehole, was officially launched with the support of Mrs. Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga, the esteemed Chairperson of the Miss Universe Zimbabwe Board.

Miss Universe Zimbabwe's Humanitarian Mission

Sheynnis Palacios, the reigning Miss Universe Zimbabwe, played a pivotal role in the project, making a significant contribution to her humanitarian cause. Her visit to Zimbabwe, which included a familiarization tour organized by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, provided an opportunity to connect with the local community and understand their needs.

Addressing Water Scarcity in Epworth

The Epworth community, like many others in Zimbabwe, faces chronic water shortages. The newly installed borehole will provide a reliable and sustainable source of clean water for the residents, improving their quality of life and addressing critical health concerns.

A Government-Supported Initiative

The partnership between Nakiso Borehole Drilling, Miss Universe Zimbabwe, and the Epworth community aligns with the government's efforts to ensure access to safe drinking water for all Zimbabweans.

Promoting Zimbabwe as a Tourism Destination

While in Zimbabwe, Miss Universe Zimbabwe took the opportunity to promote the country as a tourist destination. She emphasized the natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality that Zimbabwe has to offer. The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, recognizing the importance of international exposure, has committed to working with Miss Palacios to attract more visitors to the country.

Inspiring the Next Generation

During her visit, Miss Palacios engaged with the local community, particularly focusing on empowering young girls. As a gesture of solidarity, she presented her Miss Universe sash to a six-year-old girl from Epworth, inspiring the young girl to dream big and strive for her goals.

A Testament to Partnership and Progress

The successful installation of the borehole in Epworth is a testament to the power of partnership and the positive impact that can be achieved through collaboration. Nakiso Borehole Drilling, Miss Universe Zimbabwe, and the Epworth community have come together to address a critical need and make a lasting difference.

Fact 1: Know Your Borehole Casings

The Preferred Borehole Casing In Zimbabwe Is Class 9 and 10 (Pressure Classes.)

This is because Class 9 and Class 10 Casings are more collapse resistant. The strength of a Casing is often described as collapse resistance.

Fact 2: Borehole Drilling Depth

The exact depth, of where the water is located, cannot be established by the drilling contractor nor the Water Surveyor (Borehole Siter).

Fact 3: There Is No 100% Guarantee

It is important to note that it is never a 100% guarantee that any hole will yield water, the amount and water quality can also not be guaranteed by the drilling contractor and water surveyor.
