Happy World Teacher Day - Nakiso Borehole Drilling Celebrates World Teachers Day.

World Teachers’ Day is held annually on October 5. That has been the case since the first observation way back in 1994.

Teachers are at the heart and foundation of transformation; they must be trusted and supported to make quality public education a reality for all students.

The leadership of teachers in transforming education is the theme of this year’s World Teachers’ Day. Nakiso Borehole Drilling appreciates the work and duties of teachers.

Below are Five things you need to learn about Teachers:

Confucius was the First Teacher
Historically, Confucius is considered to be the first private teacher in history.

Education for all
According to UNESCO, the world needs 69 million teachers in order to achieve the goal of providing universal primary and secondary education by 2030.

The number of African educators are dwindling on the continent
Sub-Saharan Africa is the area facing the greatest deficit of teachers.

Teaching standards are plummeting
According to UNESCO, less than 75% of teachers in one-third of the world’s countries only meet the minimum teacher training standards.

Learning proficiency is down
6 out of 10 children worldwide—a total of 617 million—do not meet the minimum requirements for competency in mathematics and reading.

As Nakiso Borehole Drilling Team, we thank all the teachers, lecturers and professors  for imparting knowledge, instilling values, and inspiring change within us.

Thank you, dear teachers, for helping shape our little minds and inspiring us to spark change in our everyday lives.

Remember to stay cool and drink a lot of water during this hottest month of the year.
